               Field Coordinator/Engineer

To add to this expertise, we are recruiting for a Field Coordinator/Engineer for our Memphis location, to join our collaborative and team focused organization.

As our Field Coordinator/Engineer, you will be working together with the Project Manager and other participants on the Project Team(s), will be responsible for project management functions.

Position Overview:

  • Meet with Sub trade daily and ensure Sub trade is working to the project schedule.
  • Daily reports and schedule updates (include colored “area” drawing).
  • Assist Superintendent with coordination between DM and CM trades.
  • Ensure CM trades safety paperwork is complete and provided to FWS site safety.
  • Coordinate survey and month end quantity checks with TTES (or other).
  • Quality control – ensure that work is completed per the design.
  • Manage CM field documents which include:
    • Drawings
    • Contract scopes
    • Material tickets
    • Timesheets for extras and Change Orders
  • Compile field density tests / sieve analysis and record in spreadsheet.
  • Provide site photos on a weekly basis (above the photos submitted in daily reports).
  • Ensure scope of works compliance by the contractor and report deficiencies or quality issues.
  • Verify quantities removed/installed/modified in accordance with the contracts and track/report as required.
  • Draft RFI’s or NCR’s electronically and submit to PM.
  • Identify PCN’s or extra work via email and submit to PM, Coordinator and Superintendent.
  • Verify daily timesheet and sign off.
  • Assist superintendent with “punch list” and sign-off of tasks.
  • Complete utility locates for site and track as required, and collect Sub trade locate verification
    • Note: locates that are “for duration of construction” must have written proof noted on document by utility company.
    • FWS and Sub trades must have independent locates completed.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Previous experience with mechanical equipment (pumps, exchangers, compressors) and process piping (procurement, installation, hydrotesting) is required
  • Completion or enrolled in Construction Management Program, Project Management or similar program would be ideal.
  • Well-developed oral and written communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Appropriate level of experience associated with engineering/architectural design or construction firms would be an asset.
  • Must possess a high level of organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and MS Project.
  • Experience with Timberline and AutoCAD would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of construction sub-trades would be an asset.
