POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Senior Manager, Engagement Initiatives, is responsible for United Way Winnipeg’s engagement programs, including workplace engagement, Youth United, Koats for Kids, and Speakers Bureau. This role leads the Engagement team to provide meaningful, and often team-based, community experiences to the employees of our workplace partners. 

 

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, this role:

  • Oversees a team of Engagement Managers and Associates
  • Leads planning and continuous improvement for the engagement programs
  • Oversees an evaluation framework for the engagement programs.
  • Liaises with other departments to ensure that the team has the relationships and resources they need
  • Facilitates learning experiences for workplace partners
  • Ensures high-quality services to workplace partners, agency partners, and volunteers
  • Liaises with national and international United Way engagement programs for shared learning to ensure that United Way Winnipeg remains cutting edge.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

 

You are a collaborative team leader with experience in the social services or community development sector who is passionate about connecting people to community impact. You also possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:

  • Five years related experience and/or a relevant post- secondary degree including:
    • Leading community-based programs and volunteers 
    • Experience providing leadership to multiple projects and/or teams 
    • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
  • Understanding of the issues facing Winnipeg’s social service community
  • Experience in research and evaluation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; facilitation experience is an asset
  • Genuine passion for creating positive change in Winnipeg through meaningful engagement and collaboration
  • Ability to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing environment
  • Direct staff supervision experience is an asset
