Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.

Position Overview:

The aim of this project is to publish an edited collection to be used as a resource for Women's and Gender studies courses and for courses that focus on social justice organizing. The aim of this book is to highlight how Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) people have come together and worked in different capacities to organize anti-racism movements in Winnipeg.

Duties:

  • Assist in data collection, data entry, analysis and interpretation.
    • Interviewing and data collection

  • Perform data/word processing, routine computations, and record keeping.
    • Keep detailed notes

Qualifications:

  • Major in WGS.

Condition(s) of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The period of work will be from January 3, 2025 - May 2, 2024 and the estimated total hours of work will be 5-120 hours.
