Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.
Position Overview:
The successful applicant will work with interdisciplinary research team to organize, plan, conduct educational research on developing learning and wellness strategies for caregivers and children. The work will be divided into preparing materials and supporting the implementation of strategies in communities around Manitoba.
Duties:
- Conduct and prepare literature reviews.
- Review research to support strategy content, write and edit education learning strategies, prepare materials for research, perform routine clerical, computational and administrative duties such as record keeping to support research, participate in on-line AND in-person team meetings with students, faculty, community members, assist with data collection, data entry, data coding and data analysis.
- Interview participants, write emails, information letters, research reports, assist with duties related to the production of articles, publications, reports and presentations, give presentations to TOYBOX team and community members, use word processing program, spreadsheet program, presentation program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A background in education and/or geography/climate change.
- Applicant should have access to a computer/camera and reliable wifi.
- Successful applicant may be required to carry materials (i.e. 50 pounds).
- Prepared to work with children and families.
Condition(s) of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful applicant will be required to complete a criminal record check and child abuse registry check.
The period of work will be from November 7, 2024 - August 31, 2025 and the estimated total hours of work will be 0-200 hours.
